Likewise, it’s only about 10 miles east of Interstate 35. Cutting across 79 just west of Hutto is SH 130, which will take you up to Georgetown all the way down south to San Marcos and beyond. Just to the east of Hutto are other small towns with plenty to offer, including Taylor, Coupland, Granger, and Thorndale.

WHAT TO EAT, SEE, DRINK, AND DO

Nightlife + Entertainment
There’s always something going on at The Downtown Hall of Fame Restaurant & Bar, which is described as a “rustic, high-energy tavern with live music, sports on TV, and American food.” Only a couple of blocks down is Snuffy's Bar & Grill, a former mortuary-turned-bar.

If you’re looking to get out of town and get down, take the short drive out to Coupland Dancehall. Two-step, refuel with some barbecue, and rest your head the Brothel, the red velvet and cowhide bed and breakfast at the hall!

Shopping
Like any good Texas town, Hutto’s downtown is lined with small shops with unique finds and quality offerings. Take a look at Creative Touch or Bless This Nest for a true southern boutique experience.

After you’ve shopped, and before you drop, check in to Das Winkler Haus Bed and Breakfast to get a good night’s rest! .

Food Scene
Staying true to the culture of the town, Hippo Café is Hutto staple. Then satisfy your sweet tooth at Texan Cafe & Pie Shop.

There’s no shortage of classic Texas barbecue either, between Southside Market & Barbeque and Pustka Family Barbeque.

Parks & Natural Landmarks
Hutto is peppered with parks. Fritz Park is the largest in town. Not to be missed, though, is Hutto Lake Park where you can kayak, fish, and birdwatch.

If that’s not your speed, you can take to the green with two golf course options: Forest Creek Golf Club and The Golf Club at Star Ranch.
