OVERVIEW

Cedar Park is the home of Pure Realty, and Leander is just up the road from the office. Since the two cities are side by side, they share many great features, including the school district, but each have a lot to offer!

 
 
 

Public Transportation
While there are less options in the suburbs than in downtown Austin, CapMetro still has useful routes available in the area. The best option to downtown is the MetroRail Red Line from the Leander and Lakeline stations. Locally, there is the Northwest Feeder, connecting Lago Vista and Cedar Park.

Proximity
Cedar Park is 17 miles from downtown Austin, while Leander is roughly 25. Highways 183 and 45 make for quick routes to and from Cedar Park/Leander. Ranch Road 620 also connects the northwestern and southwestern suburbs of the metro.

School System
Leander Independent School District educated the youth of Cedar Park and Leander. The district encompasses almost 200 square miles, including 7 municipalities, 43 campuses, and over 43,000 students, and adding 1,000 every year.

Population
The population of Cedar Park, zip code 78613, is just shy of 80,000 with 2018 records citing 79,104 residents. That’s a 22.27% increase in just six years. The population of Leander, zip code 78641, is 60,240 according to 2018 data. With a count of 31,629 residents in 2013, the city has nearly doubled in six years! The average price of a residential home in Cedar Park/Leander is $400,962, which is considerably less than the average of the Austin Metro, coming in at $470,112.

ART & CULTURE

Nightlife
The Depot at Cedar Park is an entertainment hub right off of Whitestone Boulevard. Aside from the historic steam engine, you can enjoy some good drinks and live music. check out Wild West at Cedar Park for a Texas vibe. You can also check out Shooters Billiards & Sports Bar or Spotlight Karaoke.

Shopping
If you’re in need of some retail therapy, you can check out The Parke and 1890 Ranch for major retailers or patron some of the many local boutiques. Leander also has many local spots. Just outside of town, also servicing Round Rock and Austin, is Lakeline Mall. Lakeline Mall has over 100 stores and restaurants, nearly guaranteeing that you’ll find what you’re looking for.

Museums & Galleries
Go back in time with a vintage train ride. The Austin Steam Train Association provides train rides through the Hill country out of Cedar Park. You can also take a walk through the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden to take in some art.

Entertainment
One of the Austin Metro’s most prized venues is the HEB Center at Cedar Park. It is a huge multi-use entertainment facility that hosts everything from sports, like the Texas Stars, and concerts, from Alice Cooper to Khalid.

RECREATION

Food Scene
Cedar Park and Leander have blooming food scenes. Blue Corn Harvest is a North Austin favorite, with locations in Cedar Park and Georgetown. It’s moderately priced and dog-friendly! The Grove is also always a good choice for modern fare. Enjoy chic farm-to-table meals at Farm to Fork or branch out into Central Europe with Ziggy’s Kielbasa House.

Hotels
Up and down East Whitestone Boulevard, Card Park’s main drag, there are plenty of hotels, from the Quality Inn to the 5-star Staybridge Suites. Along Highway 183 in Leander, down into Austin, you’ll find more options for your stay.


Parks & Natural Landmarks
Brushy Creek Lake Park is 90-acres of fun, with trails, canoe and kayak launch areas, fishing pier, and more. Lake Travis is also nearby, so head down to Sandy Creek Park in Leander or even Cypress Creek Park off Bullick Hollow Road to access the blue waters.

Outdoor Activities
Golfers will have plenty of green to challenge their skills, from the Avery Ranch Golf Club to the Crystal Falls Golf Club. More of an adrenaline junkie? Fly over Lake Travis with Zip Lake Travis.
