Public Transportation
Austin’s public transportation system is robust and continues to grow year after year. Take advantage of the numerous options, including the 26-mile MetroRail line and the Metrobus system that connect Central Austin with the rest of the city. Austin is a very bike-friendly city as well! Check out the biking maps the city produces, and take advantage of the beautiful year-round sunshine with the city’s B-Cycle bike-sharing program.

Proximity
Central Austin enjoys hosting the University of Texas at Austin campus, and you’ll also have a short drive to the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport from this part of town. Central Austin also is your gateway to all the amazing attractions of the downtown area, including the State Capitol building and more!

School System
Central Austin is a part of the Austin Independent School District, which is a well-rated school district. In addition to numerous public schools for children of all ages, there also are a significant number of private school and charter school options to choose from. As mentioned, Central Austin also features the city’s campus for the University of Texas. Central Austin also provides close access to several campuses of the Austin Community College system.
