ART & CULTURE

Nightlife
Right along Main Street in downtown Buda there are plenty of options for a good drink or nighttime bite to eat. Nate’s is a local favorite serving coffee by day but stellar drinks by night in a rustic barn atmosphere. Water 2 Wine, with locations in Central Texas and Denver, CO is here for a more upscale experience.

In Kyle, you can do a little barhopping right in old historic downtown. Start (or end!) at the dark and swanky Room 111. Cross the street and stop for drinks at Papa Jack’s and Desperado Bar. Top it off (or, start at!) Centerfield Sports Bar & Grill.

Perhaps one of the best-known spots in the area is Buck’s Backyard. This is a beloved music venue off of 1626 where people gather for good shows and cold drinks.

Shopping
One of Buda’s treasures is the massive Cabela’s right off of Interstate 35. With their grand, lifelike taxidermy displays and stories of outdoor gear, it’s a family favorite!

Don’t forget to check out all of the boutiques, antique shops, and mom and pops in old downtown!

If you’re still house hunting and need a place to stay, there’s no shortage of options. Being right on the interstate, you can easily find reliable name. For a more unique and pampering stay, try the Sage Hill Inn & Spa. Food Scene
No write-up about the Kyle/Buda food scene can be done without mentioning the Texas Pie Company in Kyle. The gigantic slice of cherry pie that ejects from the downtown storefront heralds in visitors from all around for a taste of their famous pie.

In Buda, Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant has filled bellies for over 30 years in this old home with a wraparound porch. If you’re not feeling Tex-Mex, try Beaux Southern Seafood or Main St. Pizzeria & Beer Garden.

One of Austin’s favorite barbecue joints isn’t too far from here, either. The famous Salt Lick Barbecue is just up the road in Driftwood. Get a delectable brisket and have a cold one at this iconic BYOB, cash only spot nestled deep in the Hill Country.

Outdoor Activities
